The Township Clerk is responsible for maintaining records for the township, publishing all required notices, keeping minutes of Township Board Meetings, serving as the township election officer, and performing other administrative duties.
Candidates must be a qualified elector of the town, they don’t have to be lawyers, but are required to take courses once they are elected to be a judge. New judges with no prior legal experience are required to take in-person training provided by lawyers and judges through the state Office of Justice Court Support. Judges take a test at the end of the session. Follow-up courses are also required.

No filing fee; signature requirement of .05% of the then enrolled voters of such party in such district, see county website for exact numbers.
