You must be eligible to vote in the election in which you are a candidate (must be a registered voter). You must have been a legal resident of the City of Buford for at least six (6) months. You must be a citizen of the United States. You have never been convicted and sentenced in any court of competent jurisdiction for a fraudulent violation of primary or election laws, malfeasance in office, or felony involving moral turpitude or conviction of domestic violence in the laws of this state of the United States, or, if so convicted, that your civil rights have been restored, and at least ten years have elapsed from the date of the completion of the sentence.You must not be a defaulter for any federal, state, county, municipal, or school system taxes. You must pay the applicable filing fees at the time of qualifying.
