Eligibility requirements
A Councilor shall be a citizen of the United States; shall have been a resident and qualified elector of the consolidated government for a least two (2) years prior to the date of his or her election; and shall be at least twenty-one (21) years of age when elected to office. In addition to such qualifications, a District Councilor shall have been a resident of the district from which elected for a period of at least one (1) year prior to the date of his or her election and shall continue to reside therein, during his or her term of office.
