Qualified elector/registered voter. One year resident of the township. A person is not eligible to hold any office if that person, at the time required for taking the oath of office, has been convicted in any court located in the United States of any infamous crime, bribery, perjury, or other felony. All candidates for township or multi-township assessor must file a certificate of qualifications from the Illinois Department of Revenue or the qualifying organization with their filing of nomination papers pursuant to the provisions of Section 2-45 of the Property Tax Code [35 ILCS 200/2-45].
