Eligibility requirements

A Mayor shall be elected by and from the Voters, and shall have his or her principal place ofresidence in the City during the Mayor’s term of office. Upon adoption of this Charter, the CityCouncil shall elect the Mayor from among its members, to serve as interim Mayor until his or her successor can be elected during the first regular election under this Charter.
