Criminal Justice / Public Safety Juvenile Justice services are a major responsibility of The Office of the Clerk. Our “Victims over Criminals” policy will ensure that victims of juvenile crime are afforded all rights guaranteed in the Constitution of Florida. In addition to coordinating with the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice, the Judiciary, State prosecutors, Public defenders, law enforcement, and other agencies in carrying out its mission to protect Volusia County residents, we will change the lives of students, parents, and all citizens in our community by promoting delinquency prevention and early intervention. Crime is Crime; regardless of age, Florida must uphold the law. Government Reform John is running to fight for conservative values in the Free State of Florida. Government Reform As Clerk, John will prioritize community outreach to inform residents of their many state and county resources while delivering a fresh energy to the administration of The Clerk’s Office. Taxes / Budget Financial administration services are a core duty of The Office of the Clerk. Ensuring every tax-payer dollar is properly managed and not wasted on needless government regulations and programs will be a top priority of my administration. We will transparently maintain all court finances and promptly collect and disburse fines, court costs, forfeitures, fees, and service changes. Criminal Justice / Public Safety The Clerk of Court’s primary responsibility is connecting people to their county and judicial services. By collaborating with the Circuit Court and the Volusia County Government, we will ensure the proper administration of justice and an impartial jury process. “Victims over criminals” will be the policy for all legal resources in my administration. To fight against corruption, we will reform office procedures to provide transparency in all eligible areas. Government Reform John believes continued support for America First polices at the local level is the best course of action to bring about real positive change in our community. Government Reform In my administration, we will improve and strengthen mental health protections. By transforming how mental health is understood, accessed, and integrated into The Office of the Clerk, we will ensure the health and well-being of all Volusia County residents. In coordination with the Florida Department of Children and Families, my administration will create a new Office of Juvenile Mental Health within the Mental Health Department to increase protections for minors and to combat the dramatic rise in youth mental health problems. Criminal Justice / Public Safety Ensuring a safe community for all Volusia County residents is my number one priority. Tough-on-crime policies will continue to keep Floridians safe. We will swiftly carry out justice by coordinating closely with law enforcement to ensure that all necessary information and evidence is properly managed. My administration will also upgrade The Office of the Clerk’s digital security to protect millions of records containing confidential information.
