GoodParty.org Discord Community Launches New Volunteer Teams

Since the launch of GoodParty.org’s Discord server last summer, we’ve seen the growth of a diverse community of independent candidates, volunteers, and voters. Now, we’re excited to announce the launch of five new volunteer teams where community members can plug in and get involved in GoodParty.org’s mission of making people matter more than money in our democracy.

The new volunteer teams include:

• Visibility Team: This team plays a central role in creating campaign awareness and engaging with others, both through online platforms and in real life.

• Voter Outreach Team: This team connects with voters through direct outreach, such as phone and text banking, canvassing, and door-to-door initiatives.

• Writing Team: This team uses their creativity and skills to write blog articles, op-eds, and more to spread the word about GoodParty.org's mission.

• Design Team: This team creates visual materials such as flyers, posters, social media graphics, memes, and more — all to support candidates’ campaigns and GoodParty.org’s larger mission.

• Politico Team: This team talks politics and current events, helps sharpen messaging, and analyzes voter data, election trends, and demographic information to inform campaign strategies.

The goal of these volunteer teams is to give community members unique places to connect with other independents who share similar interests. We know that it takes a wide variety of talents and skill sets to build an effective grassroots movement, and these new volunteer teams are here to celebrate the rich and diverse abilities that GoodParty.org’s volunteers have already brought and continue to bring to our community.

Community members can choose to join one or multiple volunteer teams.

The Visibility Team is perfect for volunteers who bring high energy and a passion for raising awareness to the movement. These team members can choose to engage either online or in real life, making this a great home for volunteers who are looking for flexibility and a wide range of opportunities.

The Voter Outreach Team also offers both remote and offline volunteer opportunities, providing flexibility for volunteers across the country. Voter Outreach Team members can participate in phone and text banking from anywhere, and they can support independent candidates in their local areas through canvassing and door-to-door outreach. This team is ideal for community members who enjoy meeting new people, answering questions, and getting more directly involved in political campaigns.

The Writing Team offers exclusively remote volunteer opportunities, and is perfect for anyone who wants to put their writing skills to use. Whether you’re building your writing portfolio, hoping to improve your writing abilities, or looking to share your unique perspective, there’s a place for you to plug in here. Volunteer opportunities in this team include writing guest posts for GoodParty.org’s blog, submitting op-eds and letters to the editor, sharing your story for a chance to be spotlighted in GoodParty.org’s newsletter, and more.

The Design Team is the place for visual artists, graphic designers, meme makers, and anyone else who loves to communicate through visual media. Volunteers on this team have the opportunity to contribute directly to independent candidates’ campaigns by designing flyers, posters, social media graphics, and more to help them raise awareness in their communities. Team members also have the opportunity to create memes and other creative assets in support of GoodParty.org’s mission.

Finally, the Politico Team is the perfect home for people who love discussing politics, diving into data, and helping campaigns sort through the details. Analytical minds and curious spirits welcome! Volunteer opportunities include analyzing voter data, election trends, and demographic information to support independent campaigns and keep our knowledge base as accurate and up-to-date as possible.

Each of these volunteer teams is designed to empower community members to make a difference using their unique passions and abilities.
